Henderson breaks ground on new sports complex, opening set for 2026

The City of Henderson held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, marking the start of construction on the West Henderson Fieldhouse.

The state-of-the-art indoor sports complex, set to open in fall 2026, will be located behind Chicken N Pickle at the corner of St. Rose and Maryland Parkways.

Officials say the planned 160,000 square-foot, two-level facility is anticipated to have the following features:

  • Basketball courts that can convert to other court uses, such as volleyball and pickleball

  • Hybrid turf fields for sports like indoor soccer, box lacrosse, and indoor football

  • Birthday party and community rooms

  • Family entertainment to potentially feature bowling, laser tag, arcade games, miniature golf, and a restaurant and bar

The project, introduced for public feedback last year, resulted from a public-private partnership with KemperSports, a leader in sports, hospitality, and entertainment management.

Henderson residents will benefit from a 20% discount on all event programming and activities at the facility, officials say.

The economic impact of the West Henderson Fieldhouse is projected for the following:

  • 238 permanent jobs

  • $1.5 million annual tax revenue

  • $10.7 million in wages and salaries

  • $39.1 million in annual total economic output
